We’re fast approaching the end of the 6-week school holidays and I’m sure all you parents are ready to sit down after a long summer of activities and fun days out. We wanted to share with you our team’s favourite summer spots, since this weekend will be the last weekend to cram in any last-minute fun before the return to school/nursery/college/life as know it.
Wollaton Hall – Nottingham
Home to batman, Wollaton Hall is a great place to visit with the kids. Not just a home to superheroes, the hall boasts large grounds, perfect for a walk or family picnic. In the summer holidays they offer a bat trail adventure for just £1 as well as offering craft activity days. Check out their website for more details - https://www.wollatonhall.org.uk/events/
Markeaton Park – Derby
Based just outside of Derby city centre, Markeaton park is easy to access via car, foot and public transport. With a large park, boating lake, craft village and café you won’t be short for things to do. Dig for Victory and the Colour Run are among the many events taking place at the Park, take a look at their website to find out more information - https://www.inderby.org.uk/parks/derbys-parks-and-open-spaces/markeaton-park/
Twin Lakes – Melton Mowbray
If you have a bit more budget to spend on a day out then Twin Lakes in Melton Mowbray is sure to give you a fun filled day for the whole family. Not only are there rides for children of all sizes, there is also a zoo farm, a birds of prey centre and a creepy critters zone. Jump Inc. – Sheffield
For a day out, that will have the kids jumping for joy (sorry for the terrible joke) why not give Jump Inc. a try. Trampolines and fun activities for kids and adults so you parents can get involved in the action. There is even a toddler bounce session where a parent can jump for free when accompanying an under 5. Sea life – Birmingham
Home to over 2000 creatures this is the perfect day out to combine fun and education. With talks and feeding times throughout the day you’ll be able to learn a little more about your favourite animals, and you can even get up close and personal in the rock pool area, being able to touch and hold some of the smaller creatures.
