Ian, who lives in Belfast, is from a shopfit background, and has been working for Farsight since November 2015. He is extremely passionate about his work and knows what it takes to get on in the construction industry.
Speaking of his current role as Site Manager for one of Studio People’s latest projects - Staffordshire University’s state-of-the-art Media Centre - Ian said, “It is specialist work on this site, and although previous experience of working on highly engineered developments is not essential – a passion for, and pride in, your work is.”
The Media Centre includes 12 rooms that, to ensure perfect audio recording conditions, are completely independent to each other. The ceilings, floors, walls and windows have nothing joined to potentially distort or influence the sound within.
Even the most seasoned of construction workers are required to use different techniques to the ones they are used to, but working under Ian they soon adapt their existing skills and learn new ways to apply them.
“It gives me a real buzz to see members of the team get on board with the Studio People’s specialism and work ethic. We only keep the very best workers on site – and when you have them all working as a team, things can only keep moving forward.”
“I believe in doing the best possible job every time, and encourage everyone working with me to do the same.” explains Ian.
“In this job – and especially working on temporary contracts - you are only as good as your last project. I want to provide a level of service that will ensure companies working with Farsight ask for me by name.”
