Are you looking for a way to spend your time between Christmas and New Year? Wondering how to make the most of your time off work? Pondering a way to avoid spending your life savings in the sales? Here are our 4 tips on best places to visit this Christmas:
Contrary to popular belief, Galway is more than just the home town of the girl in the song. Galway is a beautiful harbour city on Ireland’s west coast. You can take a trip down Quay street for shopping, food and drinks or if you are looking for something more rural why not visit the cliffs of Moher. Whether you are going on a brisk walk or sitting in a quirky bar you’ll find something in Galway for you.
Edinburgh is fantastic city to visit at any time of year, and with lots of things to do in close proximity to each other you won’t be left out in the cold long. From whiskey tours to haunted walks there are plenty of fun activities to take part in, but Edinburgh really comes to life at night. Try visiting The Tower restaurant for a meal with a view or if you’re looking for something more secluded visit Panda & Sons, a prohibition style bar located behind a barber shop. It may take a little effort to find but we promise the cocktails are worth it.
If you haven’t visited Dublin, you haven’t lived. Famously home to the Guinness storehouse, Dublin is also host to the Oscar Wilde monument, Dublin zoo and the National Leprechaun Museum. The go to spot however is Temple Bar. Bursting at the seams with little bars serving the smoothest Guinness you’ve ever tasted (naturally) and live music. There will always be singing and dancing to music everyone knows and loves. Dublin is a must do for great atmosphere and plenty of drinking.
Bristol has a lot going for it, great night life and shopping but at Christmas it goes a step further with it’s cracking Christmas Market. Located in the pedestrianised area of Broadmead in Bristol’s shopping quarter, the market has lots to offer, from food and drink to crafty gifts. You can enjoy Mulled wine, hot chocolate or German beer whilst you explore 55 chalet stalls. Not to mention the tasty Yorkshire Pudding wrap! If you want the festive feels, Bristol is the place for you!
